What is latex?
Natural Latex rubber clothing
The latex is extracted from the milky sap of the rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis) and is used for various applications such as clothing, toys, decorations and much more.
It is mainly found in South America and Southeast Asia.
By milking the tree, the so-called raw latex is obtained, which is then processed into a stable material by cleaning, thickening, smoking and vulcanization.
Then the so-called production steps begin, which lead to the production of the actual product.

These production steps are very different and always tailored to the respective product.
For latex clothing and also, for example, latex decorative items, the latex is either extruded or filled into tanks/canisters/bottles.
The respective coloring often occurs in advance through the addition of appropriate color additives.
These color additives are also usually products tailored to the respective product (clothing/decoration/industry).
At this point, you can already find appropriate stabilizers and accelerators in the latex in industrial products or from corresponding cheap suppliers – which, in our opinion, have no place in them!
The only thing these chemicals do is usually just speed up the production process.
In our opinion, this may not be a big deal for industrial products, but for clothing that is worn directly on the skin or, for example, for latex keychains as decorations that are then very often worn in the hand/on the skin, no chemicals should be used for which it is not certain how they work or what happens to the skin and the person in the long term and over time.
